After many years of working with the Kwinella Women’s Clinic and Partnership with Horaya Home for Orphaned Children The issue cataracts arose. Cataract surgery and eye care can help many Gambians keep and improve their eyesight. The BDesh Foundation presented Imam Johari with a partnership opportunity that will fund cataract operations for 500 Gambians. This project is in the works but we will need your help so the individuals who need the care in the most remote villages can have access to transportation to attend the clinic surgery and be able to have follow- up care if needed.

This means they miss 1 week of lessons every month, putting them at an academic disadvantage.

The staff stay on site because traveling to and from the Health Center is difficult. The nurses and health care aides have been living in unhealthy conditions. We need to support the staff as they are taking care of the health and well-being of the community. The Kwinella Staff quarters are in desperate need of a new roof. Every rain, water leaks through the roof and creates puddles, because the buckets can't handle the downpour.
